Go to a mom and pop outfit. Meineke & Midas same company both hold stores to no standards. Each store is a fly by night do what they want to the customer and then tell customers bring it back and we’ll make it right until the customer gets tiered of getting issue fixed correctly.
Drove home with ears bleeding from load exhaust. look unearth to find this out. Call Meineke and the ZNS BEGINS! Bring it back we make it right( you do exhaust why am I bring it back for, I did 3 times explaining they need 21/2 and 3exhaust piping and I even brought in a new muffler for them to use sense they have no sense.
They lie, cheat and wear the customer out. Complain to corporate to find out cor doesnt hold stores to any standards so its the wild Wild West at Meineke and midas( same shops different names)

- - Quoted extra diagnostics, price and discounts not honored.
- - Conflicting oil-leak statements.
- - 3% card fee not disclosed.
First, they told me all the maintenance items they wanted me to approve before they diagnosed the problem. $98 diagnostic cost.
They quoted a further $500 diagnostic cost. If they did the work, they would take it off the bill. The service writer, Paul, told me I had a severe engine oil leak and that they had pressure tested the engine with all good readings. I went to talk to the mechanic, Brandon Hall.
He was smart, respectful, and he showed me what was wrong. I asked if the pressure was tested; he said no. Did you find an oil leak? He said no oil leak.
The service writer said he never said that. Brandon told me he would make sure the repair was done correctly. I was given a written quote certifying they did not hold up to that quote. I was told I could use the 10% senior discount and the $100 discount online when I paid for the repair.
None of that was true. I was also told I could use my credit card to pay for the repair. They did not tell me I would have to pay an additional 3% on top of the bill. I believe this bill is not correct.
I had to pay to release my daughter's van. No time for bank transaction today. I worked in this industry for over 20 years. This is just wrong.
I should not have been treated this way.
I was promised a price and given another entirely! Roy

Verified ReviewerBad service repair & not using diagnostic test completely to find problem
- - Car shook; bad coil diagnosed, $575.
- - Smoked; later said hose or engine gasket; coolant test only.
- - 71, on Social Security, no family, can't afford a car.
Car was shaking, so I took it to Meineke for a diagnostic test. I was told it was a bad coil.
I paid $575 to fix it. The car smoked under the hood, went back, and was told it could be a leak in a hose or engine gasket. I was told the diagnostic test was for coolant and not for the engine. I'm 71 and on Social Security.
I'm tired of women being taken advantage of.
I now have a car I can't drive safely and can't afford a new car. I have no immediate family to help me.
- Friendly staff
- Not doing a complete diagnostic check on car

Verified ReviewerHorrible service , inflated price and damage to property
- - The shop raised costs from $2,000 to $3,000 and did a partial tear without insurance approval.
Meikene hasn't bother contacting about anything.
Under false pretend the store pretend like it was up me if was willing pay more. Not know of the deal which said okay but the shop . I said I may be able 2000.00 then next this up 3000.00.i ask did get up from 2000.00 then to 3000.00.I never received reason why this jump. During this two weeks the shop a partial tear without getting authorize approval from insurance company.
I was talking to lady that deals with the customer. Then she started that the shop to do partially tear of my engine. So went to shop the lady told David something thing. She agreed if I needed other the insurance company would cover it Later I contact the insurance company the guy said wasn't necessary to do partially tear of the engine.
I then contact David told not do this partially tear of engine. He said it haven't been started and he waited a couple of days made sure the is required this Later that night I call insurance company and learn the went ahead anyway. Went it came what the promise about that was other problem. The shop first thought the insurance company wasn't going to come though.
So the shop s was going help me out. They put an engine for 6500.00 But the shop just let out part that engine would 60,000 miles Lucky I said no to helping me out I learn about engine having 60,000 a fact . Weeks after fact. I knew the shop would try putting an engine with higher miles and not telling me .
So the first engine came I made sure I have gotten the vin number . The night before they suppose to put the engine the vin number came back 51,000. Keep in mind by time inflated price of the job was 10,500.00. So the shop was so surprised by miles being over 11,000 of what had to insurance company and me.
That wanted to made deal with me. I told their no deal to be made. Get other engine I pay 1000.00 of my part . Then extra overcharge 1000.00 was unfair amount never a reason.
But needing my car to fix . Not being to put in engine the insurance money. I wouldn't able to afford a lawyer. Cost of my car payment, lift rides and bus .
The only option to pay the rip-off price that shop demand. You think shop what demand that would have been enough. No the shop wasn't done with yet. The shop put the old partially tear engine in back of back seat for 29 days and refuse to remove the old no good engine from my car.Now I have will fight with Meikene to replace my back seat with wouldn't be cheap.
Over 3000 dollar of damage over me not wanted to be taken advantage of by this shop. For I wasn't able sleep kept up wondering about that back seat.

Meinke charged me $3000 and the car still doesn't run. I was charged for three different parts twice.
They replaced parts that didn't need to be replaced. They used aftermarket parts but swear they didn't. They refused to further service this car and told me to take it to the dealership.

Verified Reviewer |Resolved: Offensive Message in My Inspection Results
- - Oil change and alignment were performed at Meineke Moscow, ID.
- - An insulting note appeared in my inspection results.
- - I want a refund and will not return.
Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with full refund.
I just received an oil change and alignment at Meineke in Moscow, ID. Shortly after, I was sent an email with my Inspection Results.
In the field where my name is, the following message appeared:
NIKI DO NOT SERVICE AND I MEAN IT!!! (LAST NAME)
I cannot overstate how insulting and offensive this is. To see my name attached to such a message, especially after years of trusting your shop with my vehicle, was appalling.
If this was meant as an internal note, it is inexcusable that it appeared in my customer file.
And if it was intentional, it is even worse. Either way, I am disgusted that a business I have supported for years would allow this kind of unprofessionalism.
I would like to send a copy of the inspection results so you can see this message for yourself.
Because of this, I am demanding my money back from this appointment and I will no longer be bringing my car to Meineke.

- - Meineke at 100 Peachtree Rd; misinstalled tire; delay.
- - Delay: 3+ hours; direct contact requested.
- - TPMS: quoted $99, charged $229; regional review requested.
I am submitting a formal complaint regarding Meineke Car Care Centers at 100 Peachtree Road, Nicholasville, KY, for service on October 25, 2025.
I was quoted 45 minutes for a mount and balance of four tires, yet the service took over three hours with no communication or explanation. One tire was installed incorrectly, requiring remounting and rebalancing.
I was quoted $99 for TPMS, but the final charge for TPMS alone was $229.
When I attempted to address these issues with the manager, they were dismissive and unprofessional.
This level of service is unacceptable and does not reflect the advertised values of honesty, transparency, and customer care.
I am requesting that this matter be reviewed by regional or corporate management and that I be contacted directly regarding corrective action. This experience caused significant disruption, and I hope Meineke takes the necessary steps to prevent this at other locations.

Verified ReviewerBad service
- - Escalating, unclear quotes; no written estimate.
- - They asked upfront to pay to start work.
- - Partial teardown done without authorization; junkyard engine.
I really had thought this was a good place get car repairs. My engine went out and I really Meikene was honest place.
I know did unauthorized repair by doing partial tare down. Then complaining about the insurance wouldn't pay. First Meikene car center said they thought it would 6500.00 . After Meikene talking the insurance then asked me asked I would to put some money in if I could get better engine.
Then Meikene said the insurance was taken liability. Then Meikene and ask me would be okay paying 2000.00 .I guess would if you have too. But never it would 2000.00 or more. Next I'm told it just went to 3000.00.
Talk to his boss and call 1 800 Didn't no answers. I never receive a estimate regarding the initial price or the increase of a thousand dollar went engine would come in. I told that by Meikene if I want Meikene to start fixing my car then I need to the 3000.00. Otherwise, they wouldn't be in hurry to fix my car.
Keep in mind the engine that I'm half charged for 3000.00 comes from junkyard. Now Meikene have received the 3000.00 they aren't hurrying to fix my car . So engine along cost 6000.00 from Juck yard. Deal they not likely my review .
I feel they wait longing to get car out. But I'm making false statements than sue me. Just because a company is charging you 6000.00 for engine from a Junkyard yard engine isn't mean you pay 6000.00 an engine. I never received a written estimate.
When it iwas 2000.00 and after it became 3000.00. I was so upset . It made ever worst by it not being explained. Then I was told if I didn't up money with they weren't start working car.
Who knows who have contact.Just a nightmare. I hope this nightmare ends soon.

- Been change on price

First, I was told my suburban needed a new transmission.
The new transmission was put into my suburban and I picked it up a few days later. Two days later, the transmission hot idle engine message came onto the screen and the check engine light came on so I took my suburban back to Meinecke in the morning. They test drove it and told me that the transmission hot idle engine message was no longer there and when I picked it back up, it was not and neither was the check engine light. A few days later, the message appeared again and the check engine light came back on and when Id accelerate, my suburban was jerking so I took it back to Meinecke.
A few days after this, they said that it could be the transmission fluid or the torque converter or the TCM, they let my extended warranty (endurance) know and they approved for another new transmission to be ordered, that it eta would be 7 business days. Ive capped out on my rental assistance per endurance and do not have the finances to rent another vehicle to take me to and from work.
My initial reach out to Meinecke was to request for them to provide some kind of vehicle rental relief until my suburban is made whole, but per their voicemail, it is not likely. I am wondering why the first new transmission didnt function the way it was supposed to though
User's recommendation: I would not recommend. Meinecke auto mechanics are the experts, not me. Why was it not known to them the first transmission would not be compatible or the right fit for my suburban?
