I received Meineke mail coupon tgat matched tv ads fir $14.95 oil change. It had locally owned address and # for 240 South Main Street, Woonsocket RI, 02895. When I called and spoke to "owner" to book appointment, he said "we don't offer those corporate discounts. Thats corporate that sends those out! I cant afford that! Im lising money here!". So I told him he has lost a 20 year customer! Im going to Munroe for $19.99 with a FREE tire rotation besides!

Problems with Meineke Franchises

I have been having issues with Meineke Car Centers, in Austell, Ga and they are not wanting to honor their warranty on a part they put on my vehicle. My engine light came back on after they put the part on, and when I moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, they tried to say other problems was wrong with my car, trying to make me spend extra money, when it was the defected part causing the problems.

I then moved to Statesville, Ga and went to another Meineke Car Center, and they try to say that another code was showing up, when it was the same part that was causing the engine light to come on. I contacted the manager Alan at the Meineke in Austell, Ga today, he tried to say that my motor could be causing the part to have problems. They want the staff at Meineke in Statesville, N.C to take the part off my vehicle and send it back to Ga. Then Meineke told me I have to pay for the labor if nothing is wrong with the part.

If something is wrong with the part then I'm not suppose to pay for labor. I should not have to pay anything at this point!! Meineke have been giving me the run around for almost one year! And I have filed many complaints to Meineke Corporate about their franchised car centers, they have refused to help me with my vehicle.

Do Meineke franchises work differently and order their parts from different stores? Because I was told from Courtney the manager that they do run their store different, and order their parts from a different stores. I'm very frustrated and very stress, this problem with my vehicle has caused me not being able to sleep, developing mental stress not able to do my online assignments and studies. I will be filing a lawsuit against Meineke, and bring them to court!!

Can someone explain to me about franchises?

And what rights do I have as a consumer? Please I need your help!!

Meineke - Never again. Never!

I paid for an oil change, 23 point inspection, tire air pressure, fluid top off and rotation of tires. I did this at the Meineke located at 462 Highland Ave, Salem, MA, 01907.

My engine WAS NOT RATTLING when I brought it bit suddenly there's a rattling noise? I asked if they rotted the tires. I was told no, you have to specifically ask for the service! The service was included in the service I paid for!!!

I was told that my belt needed to be replaced. I was never told which belt (the fan belt, timing belt, serpentine belt? Which one???) Turns out my water pump was shot! A belt makes a squealing noise!

I may be a woman but I'm far from *** when it comes to cars!!!! Meineke can go to ***! The business charged me for stuff that wasn't even done!

I'm going back to deal with the head manager tomorrow and I'm reporting them to the BBB. This shouldn't happen to anyone, no matter the ethnicity, gender, or any other thing people want to say this was "caused by".

On the 5th of July I had my car towed to Meineke Car Care on Nellis and Desert Inn for an electrical diagnosis. It took three regular mechanics and one events technician a week and a half just to figure out what was wrong with my car. They told me that my computer had gone out and that it needed to be replaced. The advanced technician by the name of Ken told me that the cheapest ECU computer he can find in which I need for my car was $325 and that he will order it right away and that I should arrive within a few days but mind you it took a whole nother week for it to arrive. At this point we are now on July 22nd and my car is still wont be fixed until later on that day because he have to do a hard rekey but that never happens because somehow mysteriously a brand new battery that I had just purchased less than a month ago dies out and cannot be recharged so therefore I have to go in exchange that battery to get in a replacement battery and bring that replacement battery backup to Meineke so that he can restart the rekey process. At this point my bill with Meineke is $737 of which is way more than I can afford which is way more than I even expected to pay considering the fact that I have three small children with my oldest being five and my youngest only been 3 months I have other expenses that I'm responsible for as well as do everyone else but that is no concern of the guys working on my car Meineke. I've had to cancel my kids doctor's appointments as well as mine because it is way too hot out here in Las Vegas to be riding the bus with three small children. Furthermore at this point Ken has done the rekey process about 3 times and in that process he damaged a new computer that he had I just purchased so therefore he had to order a new computer and that is the point where we are at now waiting for the new computer to arrive so that he can do the rekey process correctly and then I can get back to my life. At this point I am very fed up and I'm very frustrated and I have ran out of patience! I just want my car back so that me and my family can get back to our normal way of life! Oh and by yhe way we've already made our payment of a total of $737 but still no car!!!

When you bring your car to any garage, especially one that does not allow the customer to watch the work being done, you are at the mercy of the integrity of the mechanics. Twice now, we brought our car to Meineke for an oil change and twice, they diagnosed a "problem" that we had no problem with until we left the garage.

It is amazing to me that we can have a perfectly running vehicle with no oil leaks at all and after a simple oil change and the mechanic's "diagnosis" that we needed an expensive oil pan and gaskets for $586, (one that really retails for around $25) our car suddenly leaks copious amounts of oil on the very day it was diagnosed. When we bring it to the attention of the owner and manager, we are told that we are problem customers for suggesting impropriety and to not come back to their establishment. You be the judge--the vehicle did not leak until we brought it in for the oil change and now it does. Who benefits here?

What sort of business blames the customer? Is there anyone left with integrity anymore? WE JUST LEARNED FROM TAKING THE CAR TO ANOTHER AUTO REPAIR PLACE AND LEARNED THAT MEINEKE DID NOT PUT THE GASKET BACK ON THE OIL PAN. THIS IS SABOTAGE AND THEY PURPOSELY DID THIS AND REFUSED TO BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR ACTIONS.

NOW WE HAD TO PAY ANOTHER REPAIR PLACE TO FIX OUR CAR--AND WHEN MEINKE WAS NOTIFIED, THEY BADMOUTHED US TO THE OTHER REPAIR PLACE AND TOLD THEM THAT WE ARE DONE AND NOT WELCOME INTO THEIR BUSINESS AGAIN! THIS IS LIBEL!

My husband is disabled and has a heart condition and this whole incident has greatly harmed him. I

My dodge charger was left at meineke on 1st street in Bradenton fl, due to a damage read out regarding hurricane Irma. I left 2 pairs of expensive shoes in the trunk and when i went back after the storm to get my car towed from the property my shoes were gone. I'm pretty sure they stole my shoes the car had been sitting at meineke for 2 1/2 weeks i need help to report this to corparate due to the hurricane i have nothing and added 2 pairs of expensive shoes as well. Someone help!

Failed to diagnose issues

san angelo texas. failed to diagnose issue with 1985 Toyota celica after keeping the car for over 3 hours... then when my son picked up his car the mechanic began to make fun of the car and tell my son he wouldn't pay 200 dollars for that car. trying to make my son feel bad because the mechanic was so worthless he couldn't figure out an AC issue. I've never been so ticked off in my life! where does this guy get off thinking something someone else owns is so far beneath him? what a flaming piece of human garbage.

dont waste your time or money!!! theyll try to sell you on things they say your car "needs" but care only about "making the sale" the meineke on 48th and sheridan manager named "ryan" tried that *** with me, since i had been to a meineke store in sapulpa oklahoma, a month before they shut it down due to incompetence, mismanagement , had the sapulpa store in april 2017to do an oil change, and check for a rubbing noise coming from the rear of my car. an hour later, i got my car back,was told that it was fine that they had adjusted the rear brakes, that it was fixed. well no less than 5min of driving, i noticed smoke coming from under the hood. turns out that the mechanic that did my oil change spilled oil on the engine compartment, causing it to smoke. i went back to them, and they tried to wipe it off. i live about 2-3 miles from that location, i got home, checked my oil, and it was 2 quarts low. i jacked my car up, crawled under it, and found my oil drain plug was loose,oil dripping out around it. i then tightened it and added oil to proper level. the rubbing noise had started again . i contacted the "district manager" "jason". was told to bring my car to their shop{25 mi } and they would "check it out for me" "ryan" test drove my car ,and told me that he thought that the car was ok to drive" after driving the car for a day, the noise got worse. i called"ryan" back, and he told me to bring it back{another25mi} and hed check it again. i asked him if they could check the brakes, they pulled the back wheels off, and tried to manually force the drums off, i tried ti tell them that the drums on a 2003 focus are held in by a spindle ring,after the tried beating on the drums, they finally listened to me.they couldnt pull the drums to check the brakes. they would if i paid over 600.00, though. i wasted my gas and time, just to be told that ?? i wound up having to spend 130.87 for rear drums and brakes for my focus, then had to turn around and spend another 40.00 for front brake pads that their mechanic told me" front pads are fine" i pulled one of the front pads off, it was metal on metal, but "it was fine to them" im considering seeking legal counsel on this matter as jason and meineke seem to wanna sweep this matter under the rug

I just want to say one thing .. I will never make or say anything about a shade tree mechanic, at least when they break things on your car, they have the balls to tell you...

Well these so called techs at Meienke, are doing damage to vehicles and not claiming the responsilbility for the damage...

Now that's bogus... I will never take my car to another meienke store!

Hi My name is Charles Frederick and I live in Hartford CT. I use the Meineke Car Care service at 2000 Silas Deane Highway in Rocky Hill, CT. I have had nothing but good and great service from this establishment. The manager Scot Ledger was a wonderful and very knowledgeable service man who told me the problem with my 2 vehicles and what needs to be done and a price that could be handled within my budget. I was very pleased with the total service outside the fact that he is a very pleasant human being. Myself and my wife on different occasions, visit the establishment for auto needs when needed. I have nothing but good reviews to pass on to the company and would recommend Meineke to others. Sincerely, Charles Frederick

Major car trouble / excessive charges

I drove my car (2003 Nisssan Maxima) to the Meinike on Buffalo blvd in Las Vegas for AC repair; they repaired it for only $87. Worked to full capacity. But right b4 I got home, my steering wheel began jerking, service light begin flashing in the dash board... It was completely undriveable all of a sudden. Then i called Meinike to tell what happened. They said i had pre- existing issues that was most likely the cause. I had to pay $55 for towing my car back to that *** place for more diagnosis: charged me $143 for that... They said i needed tune-up, manifold, transmis tune-up, coil all for $746! Plus i later discovered that Meinike is NOT ACCREDITED WITH CUSTOMER SERVICES BUREAU, and their customer ratings are very low. I wish i hadve known all this beforehand. DONT RISK YOUR CAR AT MEINIKE! Over 1000 customer complaints.

Lied to and cheated.

I performed my own AC. Conversion on my vehicle. To convert my system from using r12 freon to R134. So I have some automotive experience. I changed the low pressure hose. And the drier. Explained to the meineke tech. I needed the system vacumed. And recharged. I was told the price would be 189.00. After arriving. I was told they needed to remove the compressor. To remove any old oil. And the price would be now 578.00 dollars. And they worked within eyeview. And never removed the compressor. I questioned this. And was told they found another way to perform the task. A lie. And then stated it was labor cost per hour. I was there 2 hours. 1 hour no one touched the vehicle. And my itemized bill stated 6 hours. I was just let me pay. And leave here before going to jail. You will never get my business again. This was the Houston Tx..location 932 North Shepherd.

"Never use this place if you don't want to get poor service" My daughter went to this place for a simple yearly inspection. They found sever items that need to be repaired and of course it was items that they can repair. One item was the CV axel on a 2008 Honda Civic. Once they told here what need to be done she said OK and she would have the repairs done after she talked to her farther about the repairs that were need to pass the yearly inspection. As she was head back home she notice that the AC unit had started to blowing out warm air, prior to going to this Meineke it was blowing cold air. Once she told me , I call and spoke with someone name Mary and told her about the problem and she said she would had them check it. My daughter went back and they told a wire was broken, funny it wasn't broken when she went there. I then spoke with the manager Jason Otey and he was very rude and informed me that this place was privately own and that corporate didn't have anything to do with this place. I nor my daughter will never go to this place again.

The worst place ever

This is the worse place ever, they try to take advantage of people. They took me for 93.00 for nothing. I go in on a Friday to get my oil change and on Saturday my air conditioning went out for no reason so i took my truck back and they charged me 93.00 dollars to put in Freon and check it for leaks. They came back and told me that they could not find a leak and charged me $93 the next day the Freon was out again. So I took the vehicle back on Monday that when rhey tried to tell me I needed a whole new air conditioning system for a 1000 and something dollars. I told them that they were crazy then they finally told me it needed a valve but that would be 300 something dollars on top of the $93 that I already spent for nothing. PPEASE DONT USE MEINEKE
