I brought my car on for a coolant flush. I was told that the cost would be $159.00 and 20.00 additional if I needed a thermostat. During the work they told me that the car was misfiring and needed a coil pack for $300.00. I asked him to just perform the job of flushing the coolant and change the thermostat if needed. Next he tells me that the car needs head gaskets and he would be willing to buy... Read more

Run for your wallet size. Dan, the manager at Meineke at 9909 Northeast ave, Philly, Pa will always find something a problem. I took it back 3 times and paid 986.00 for the AC to be fixed. they replaced the High side line set and comprssor then when AC still wasn't working they told me they had to replace the condenser. At that point, I hightailed our of there and went to my dealer and he in no... Read more

I spent over $1000 on repairs to my car. About 2 months later I was hearing a loud noise. Due to just spending so much money I was unable to take car to shop - I was lucky enough to have a co-worker who is a mechanic look at my car and fix it for $170 (part only - no labor). He diagnosed it as being on the passenger side. After it was fixed and he told me what it was and that the driver side hub... Read more

I guess according to the “Fool me once/twice” aphorism it should be “Shame on me.” I could say that my relationship with Meineke would be analogous to the slow painful discovery of a wife’s unfaithfulness. Initially the local Meineke in Bourbonnais (under previous ownership) performed honest and very satisfactory service for a reasonable/competitive fee. Even after new ownership assumed the... 3 years ago I took my vehicle to Meineke in Flowood, MS because I had a noise in the front when I turned my steering wheel to the left. They advised me it was the hub and would cost me $600 to repair. Not knowing anything about hubs I agreed for the repair. The next day they called and told me my vehicle was ready. I picked it up and as I was driving off, it was still making the same noise. ... Read more

3 years ago I took my vehicle to Meineke in Flowood, MS. I had a noise in the front wheel when I turned my steering wheel to to left. They told me it was my hub and it would cost $600 to replace. I agreed since I had to have it done and knew nothing about it. When I picked up my vehicle and drove off it was still making the same noise. I turned around and took it back and advised them that... I fell for the 50% off brakes offer, got two drum brakes and the front rotors resurfaced. TRY $550.00. Ridiculous. Then I asked why the drum brakes were so expensive, she said "We get our parts from the Meineke Warehouse", aka really, the local auto parts store, then they mark it up 75%! To top it all off, my brake light is on now. This wasn't the first time they overpriced service and lied. I... Read more

Brought my 02 Monte Carlo in twice in two weeks for an issue with the car starting. Mechanics charged me $250 round 1 for a new battery (didn't fix the problem) and $800 round 2 for a fuel pump (didn't fix the problem). Turns out it was a common security issue with the GM car I drive. Fixed it myself. Add comment
